We first met Martina five years ago at El Matador Beach in Malibu where she was shooting some sunset pictures with her friend Chiara Ferragni. Martina has a black belt when it comes to social media and branding. Today, she is the head of PR and brand for Westwing, an interior furniture brand, and kindly accepted to answer our questions.
Martina Maccherone: I’m a passionate person always looking for the best side of things. A dreamer who still needs to find her best dream.
I would say: “don’t shine to make your presence noticed, just make your absence felt.”
I’m actually working as head of PR and brand cooperations for the Italian market of Westwing, a design-related eCommerce, based in Germany but working across all Europe in 11 markets. The good part of my job is definitely having time to relate with different kinds of people and express my ideas, not only in terms of creativity but even in a business way.
Waking up every morning doing the job you love, no matter which one it will be.
Whatsapp and Instagram are definitely on the podium.
Everyone who inspires you. I love to follow inspirational quotes accounts such as Quotesbychristie and get travel tips from the best Italysegreta who allows you to discover the cutest Italian places.
My dog Mela has a special role in my daily routine and I love to walk with her in the morning, that’s actually my favorite part of the day.
California has a unique vibe, the people, the food, the sun but, most of all, it is a place that makes you feel that you can do and be anything you want!
No one is like you. That’s so important to tell yourself this every day. No one has your face, your personality, nor your background. So go and express your true self! I personally love to share everything that I love, from sunsets to dogs, or from fashion to interior design. I truly recommend sharing what inspires you. Your personal opinion is definitely the key to your personal branding.
I love Italy, it’s not only a country, but it’s also definitely a way of living. We love dramas together with good food.
I bite my nails! That is bad. I would definitely love to do more sport! It is a good habit to have!
I would say Friday because it is still a productive day of the week but it is almost the weekend.
I read the book “The power of now”. It is full of good advice.
The Blonde Salad was my very first experience after University and I had the best time of my life learning from Chiara and how to deal with new opportunities whether it is in business or in life. I strongly believe those years made me the person I am today. It allows me to think out of the box in a world, the social media one, which was completely to explore at the time. As a creative and curious person, I had to move to another adventure related to a product and learn how to deal with another business category.
Eva Chen. She is the Director of Fashion Partnerships at Instagram.
Everyone following their dreams!
Always seeing the good part in every situation.
